One resource that I found which could be applied to my classroom is Funbrain. I found that under the topic of Geography there are some easy to use games that help students remember their states. Students are shown a map of the United States with one highlighted state, they are supposed to type in the name of the state. My students should know their states but this a great game to have them play in order to review them during my enrichment period each day. This site also has tons of other games that my students can easily navigate and play without much assistance, which is great for any down time we may have.
I love Brain Pop. My school district has a membership to this site and I use it all the time in my class. It has short videos to show students on many topics for my social studies class. I like to use these videos as introductions for my new topics before we read out of our textbook. We also use the quizzes provided when we are done watching the video. I use small whiteboards for students to write the answer and hold up for me to do a quick assessment of my class’s answers.

6-8 Health and PE

Brain Pop has a health page that has a wealth of knowledge I use in my classes. The students get intot the videos and the games they offer.
I have always been interested in adding podcasts in my classes. I would think that my students would have fun creating their own podcasts on the topic that is being covered.

7th Grade Civics

PBS Teachers is a great resource to use in the classroom. Teachers may narrow down the fields to a specific age group, topic/subject, and media type. Therefore, I am able to select 6-8 grade, Civics, and video. You can also select a variety of other items including audio, slideshows, lesson plans, etc. Exploring the website, I found many neat resources that I could use to reinforce voting and elections, our current topic in class.
I also chose BrainPop. It provides you with very updated information on a huge variety of topics. It provides many other activity ideas, quizzes for each of the videos and even games. This site is also a very useful resource for reinforcement or introduction for a topic.

Teacher Tube is a great addition to the classroom. There are songs/lessons for every subject. All students learn through music. This website is amazing for teachers and students.
Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles another website that I could assign my students to go to for the class period and solve math problems on the computer rather than using paper and pencil.

6-8 and 9-12 Language Arts
http://www.pbs.org/teachers/
PBS Teachers/Resources offers a wide selection of lesson plans and ideas for teaching Language Arts from PreK-12th. I like the many literature units. The search feature enables teachers to search for specific book titles to supplement literature lessons in the classroom.

http://www.webenglishteacher.com
I have been a fan of Web English Teacher for quite some time. It is a terrific resource. There is material on everything from grammar and poetry to mythology and journalism. For example, if I'm looking for a specific poet, I can search the poetry category and find a variety of lessons for over 50 different poets.

Elasticity of Demand
http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/bolshevik.htm
Bolsheviks – Eyewitnesstohistory.com
The first site PBS Resources has a variety of lessons that could be used within the Social Sciences. When I was looking through the site I found an excellent lesson on Elasticity of Demand and concepts such as the weak dollar. In economics it is sometimes hard to get the students excited, so I try to bring in real world situations and projects into class. This lesson thoroughly goes through the concepts and allows the students to explore them.
The second site I found very useful was eyewitnesstohistory.com. This site is very useful in all Social studies classes because it gives firsthand and primary sources that could be used in almost any class to bring events and to make the topic come alive for the student. I found a great piece on the Bolsheviks storming the Winter Palace that I could use with the students.

9-12 Business Education
http://www.brainpop.com/
http://www.pbs.org/teachers/
The first website I chose was BrainPop. I have never heard of this website, so I was really excited to navigate through this website. I teach a 9th grade Computer Tech. class and I found some really great free movies on cyber bullying, digital etiquette and many other great topics that I talk about in class. I plan on showing my students this on Monday. The second website I chose was PBS. This website has a lot of great material that I could use in my Business Law class. There wasn't a section for Business, however, I was able to click on Social Studies and find a lot of information on the Supreme Court. I will be using this site when it comes time for me to cover the Supreme Court.

funbrain
Brainpop is an excellent resource that I plan on using in my classroom this year. I found small animated clips on temperature, seasons, proper nouns, capitalization and other topics. I think that my students would enjoy the clips because they are interesting and creatively teach students about complex topics. I also found a video on cyberbullying on here for another project for this class. I also found funbrain to be a useful resource in my second grade classroom. I used the Math Arcade and found some really interesting math games. These games will allow my students to work on their math skills, as well as, have fun learning their facts.

Virtual Library of Museums
Can't travel on a teacher's salary. Then explore museums throughout the world. When in Virtual Library of Museums, simply click on the country and then the museum. See up-to-exhibits and videos of special presentations. Want to see the Mona Lisa? It's under Rest of the World - France - The Louvre. You can be cultured even if you are poor.

Smithsonian Institutes
Wsahington D. C. is home to the Smithsonian Institutes. Plan a visit in person. Take your family or your class. If traveling cannot be done, you can view the various museum and their current displays. There are special links for Educators, Kids, Researchers, Volunteers, Members, and Interns. It's a very interesting site. You'll find it difficult to break away.

Drug Filtering of the Kidneys (exponential decay)
A mathematics manipulative site that includes many options to graph functions as well as manipulate geometric figures. (This is not on the key information sheet, however, it is very useful for the higher levels of mathematics.)

This is a lesson from the illuminations link where the students connect math with biology and the functions of the human organs. It is a nice cross-curriculum and real-life application.

Google Docs Tour

Poetry @Web English Teacher
Google Docs is a web-based word processing program that allows students to collaborate on documents and projects. The thing I like most about Google Docs is that I can see how much each student contributes to the project or assignment through the history. This assures that students get the grade they deserve for the amount of work they put into the project rather than having one student do all the work and all receiving the same amount of credit. It's also free and accessible to student from anywhere. No more flash drives or having to be in the same location to work, which is difficult for high school students with demanding schedules.

This site has great resources for the study of poets. Each poet has several websites and lesson ideas. It allows for a starting place for the study of poetry and the poet. I didn't find lessons that I would use exactly, but had many ideas for lessons I would use when I searched this site. Many of them had worksheets, where I would probably do more of a webquest or internet based lesson.

Puzzle Maker
I didn't realize how many tools are out there to help teachers connect with their students. Although I should be grateful that my school has access to an online grading system and website hosting with a lot of features, we are mandated to use those and only those. I'm not in love with them and often wish we had the chance to use other sites, like engrade.com

PuzzleMaker is one of my most valuable tools. It is so easy to use and customize to meet any needs. Often times it's difficult for me to find sites that also cater to foreign language lessons, but this one can work for anyone and everyone, no matter what they teach! I use the crossword and wordsearch maker for vocabulary on a fairly regular basis!

BrainPOP
PBS teacher is a great site for all levels of teachers and all disciplines. The site has everything; lesson plans, video clips, interactive activities and articles plus a lot more. Plus the information found on the site is trustworthy and you can feel confident using the site and information found on it.
BrianPOP is a new site for me. I've never heard of it until researching through the list provided but I can definitely say I will be using it! I especially like the short video segments that is has to offer. They are very precise and to the point and I believe the students will find them interesting!

BrainPop

NYLearns
1. BrainPop: This is a great site that I've heard other educators talk about but didn't have much experience with. I love finding sites that have fun and free videos I can use to review or introduce topics in both my social studies and language arts class. The big downside seems to be that you must have a subscription to access all of the resources and if you don't its pretty limited.
2. NyLearns: NY Learns is a nice site for finding content specific resources. For example I found a constructed response question about the Dutch strarting New Netherlands. The resources list the specific standards they coincide with. Also, the site links to other websites where the resource was found so in a sense it's a one-stop-shop for materials and resources.
